Are you sick of feeling stressed, exhausted, never get a break and that you’re not the vibrant, healthy person you want to be?
Believe me I’ve been there…working crazy hours at the #1 rehab hospital in the country, stressed, little sleep, chugging caffeine and always sick. I somehow managed to get literally very stomach bug and illness I was exposed to. I thought I was tough, I’m an athlete and finished grad school at Duke and trained for marathons and triathlons this is just another thing to conquer… but then I realized I shouldn’t be battling for my health everyday. Life is hard enough…I knew there had to be a better way.
Then I thought well maybe I should try some of these diets and health trends. I’ve always been active and go-getter so making some diets changes didn’t seem too ridiculous. So I tried them all… paleo, gluten free, tons of greens, juices, smoothies, a juice only cleanse (ha that lasted like 3 hours I realized I need to chew), soy free, dairy free, no carbs, nonfat, all fat, Atkins, weight watchers, vegan, lots of meat and protein, crazy restrictions and everything under the sun….yikes that was exhausting. I’d feel awesome one day, lethargic the next, running to the bathroom every 5 minutes, not going for days…I was all over the place.
I realized that every body is different and that one diet is another person’s poison. It’s about bio-individuality and finding what worked for me. I had to find a balance and fueling your body in a way that worked for me!
That’s what I’m here to help you do. It WILL be work but I’ve been there and I’m here to help you figure it out. Being healthy is a lifestyle. It’s not a quick fix diet and it’s about more than the food you eat. It’s about your nutrition, relationships, finding joy in your life, physical activity and a spiritual practice while incorporating some changes that become habits and then your lifestyle. When you fuel your body right, it’s amazing what you can accomplish. What changes your life is changing your story. What story do you want to tell?
My goal is to be the catalyst and bring out what you already have within you!
Let’s do this!
Katie has always been a go-getter. Check out her extensive degrees & certifications:
I am a licensed physical therapist, certified holistic health coach, and yoga instructor. I received my undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University. As a physical therapist, I worked at the #1 Rehabilitation Hospital (the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) in inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, spoke at national physical therapy conventions, taught a course on yoga to pediatric physical therapists which all lead to starting my own pediatric physical therapy practice.
I have always been passionate about physical fitness and health. I am a lifelong athlete. Katie played Division I collegiate volleyball at Loyola-Chicago and then took my competitive spirit into training for multiple events like the Chicago marathon, numerous half marathons all over the country, several triathlons. I have also taught fitness classes and is a certified Spinning instructor. I quickly realized that I needed a little more balance which lead me to yoga and eventually being a certified yoga instructor. Yoga has brought me mental clarity, mind body connection and awareness of the importance of slowly down and tuning in. I drove even deeper into mind body connection and spirituality. A life-changing event was Spirit Junkie Masterclass with Gabrielle Bernstein. I realized the importance that faith and spirituality has in my life. As well as reigniting my spirituality, I also saw the importance of meditation, looking inward and journaling in my life. I have a renewed faith and know that I don’t have to do it all on my own and the universe has my back.
To complete my wealth of knowledge, I received her health coaching certification through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I learned over 100 dietary theories from the industry experts in nutrition, medicine, health, meditation, money, lifestyle and mindset. I learned about the importance of primary foods and that EVERYTHING is food. We are nourished through so many aspects of our life…gratitude, relationships, nature, exercise, water…the list goes on. As a health coach, I am able to bring together my vast knowledge to help my clients in a holistic and comprehensive way.
